The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking proposals for engineering services related to the construction of a 1.5 million gallon water storage tank in Wythe County, Virginia. The project will be sited at the existing Raper Ridge tank site and consists of the construction of a new 1.5 million gallon concrete storage tank (80-ft diameter with 40-ft side water depth), additional piping connections to an existing 20-in water main, tank overflow and drain lines (discharge to an on-site rip rap splash basin), associated control valves and telemetry, the extension of an existing gravel access road, grading and seeding, and erosion and sediment control measures. The engineering services required include: basic services, to include preliminary and final design documents, contract award documents, construction engineering oversight and coordination; and additional services such as easement assistance and permitting (state, federal, and other regulatory agencies). The successful offeror will work closely with the Wythe County Engineer and will be the Engineer-of-Record for the project. A preliminary engineering report has been developed and is available for review. Preliminary construction estimates are in the $1 million to $5 million range.

Interested offerors are requested to provide five copies of qualifications and references on Standard Form (SF) 330.

Proposals will be received at the office of Stephen D. Bear, Wythe County Administrator, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 until 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time Friday, March 17th, 2017.

All elements of this project will comply with US Department of Agriculture Rural Development guidelines.

Wythe County encourages the participation of MBE/WBE type firms.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will meet for a budget work session on Monday, March 27, 2017, beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

In compliance with Section 15.2-4311 of the Code of Virginia, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing.  The purpose of the public hearing is to consider adopting Amendment No. 2 to Ordinance No. 99-3 entitled, “Crockett’s Cove and East Crockett’s Cove Agricultural and Forestal District Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia”.  The proposed amendment will extend the districts for a period of ten years.

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 7:05 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the adoption of such amendment.  A copy of the amendment, map and other related materials are available for review in the County Administrator’s Office.

Progress Park Connector Road: Public Input Meeting On Lovers Lane Alternatives is scheduled for 6 pm, Thursday March 23, 2017 in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia. 

Mr. Scott Bortz, PE, will be making a presentation of the options that have previously been presented to the Board.  Comment sheets will be provided for the citizens.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Board Room, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, Virginia, to provide information and to receive citizen’s comments regarding the project, alternatives considered, environmental impact, project costs, and associated user charge impacts for the Speedwell Phase III waterline. Project documentation, including project alignment plans, is on file for public view at the Wythe County Administrator’s Office, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382-2513. 

Comments: written or verbal comments will be accepted at the meeting or read aloud if submitted in writing by 5 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 to William Vaughan, PE, at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382-2513.
