All candidates must possess a positive friendly demeanor, work well with the public and willing to work weeknights and weekends during youth sport seasons. Wythe County is seeking full and part-time Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers. ALS Providers will provide timely, compassionate emergency medical care and response for patients experiencing a medical emergency and/or traumatic injury; ensure continuity of care at the scene and during transport to an appropriate medical facility or to a higher-trained EMS provider; operate and maintain agency apparatus and equipment with due regard, pursuant to the Code of Virginia and regulatory requirements; assist in the routine maintenance and inspection of agency apparatus, facilities, and equipment; function as an efficient team member in delivering emergency medical care in often hazardous and/or stressful conditions; assist supervisory and billing staff in timely making reports, collecting data and submitting for billing; perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Full time positions are hourly, non-exempt from overtime, rotating & scheduled shifts, on-call rotation. Wythe County provides full benefits including paid leave, health, vision and dental insurance, VRS retirement.

The Wythe County Parks and Recreation is now accepting employment applications for Lifeguard positions at Rural Retreat Lake. These are seasonal part-time positions (up to 28 hours/week) starting May through early September.
All Candidates must possess a positive friendly demeanor, work well with the public, and be willing to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. Employees should be able to lift 50 lbs or less without assistance and have reliable transportation.
All lifeguards are required to have current lifeguard certification. Wythe County can provide certification on a first come first serve basis up to 5 certifications. Interested applicants should contact the Parks and Recreation department as soon as possible.
Lifeguards will also be responsible for daily maintenance of the pool and facilities, monitoring/supervising the pool area, and other duties deemed necessary. FULL JOB DESCRIPTION HERE
