Water Operator Trainee, Class III, Class II, Class I

Description: Operator will perform semi-skilled and skilled technical work in the operation, monitoring, testing, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the New River Regional Water Authority Water Treatment Plant.

Requirements: High school diploma/GED, basic math and computer skills, and valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Post-secondary education or degree in physical, biological, environmental, or chemical science, and/or a current Virginia Waterworks Operator Class III-I is preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders as needed. Candidate must possess the ability to obtain a Virginia Waterworks Class III Operator license within twelve (12) months and a Virginia Waterworks Class II Operator license within three (3) years of employment date. Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently. Strong work ethic and teamwork is required. Various shift work to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Public health and safety must be a priority.

The Wythe County Clerk of Circuit Court is accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk position. Deputy Clerk's are responsible for processing legal documents; assisting public with technical and recording matters; processing and issuing marriage licenses, passports, Notary commissions; administering oaths; recording and indexing real estate transactions; preparing legal papers; courtroom support; setting up criminal and civil court files; preparing cases for appeal; data entry into Case Management Systems; setting up payment agreements; collecting and receipting fees collected by Court.

The minimum requirements are a high school diploma or equivalency. Preferred applicants will possess an Associate's Degree in business, legal assisting or other related field or a combination of education and experience equivalent to such; have excellent verbal and written communications skills, experience in cashiering and accounting; general working knowledge of the terminology and procedures of the legal and Court system; understand generally accepted business office methods; be proficient in Windows operating systems including Word, Excel, Access; be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Court officials, associates and general public; and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for a full-time Lead Dispatcher Telecommunicator for the Emergency Communications Center. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Field emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the public for police, fire, rescue, and other emergency services. To dispatch police, fire, rescue, and other emergency services personnel by radio, radio paging or phone. Conduct entry and inquiry into VCIN/NCIC/DMV records via data terminal. Operate modem and fast –paced computer-aided dispatch utilizing DOS and Windows based operating systems. Carry out assigned miscellaneous tasks, maintaining records, scheduling, day-to-day responsibilities and serve as an assistant to the Director of the Communications Center in performance of a wide variety of training and other duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years experience as a telecommunicator. Must possess good keyboarding skills, state certification in VCIN/NCIC and Telecommunications, ability to communicate professionally and efficiently via telephone and radio, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under stressful emergency situations. Must have a minimum of two years experience as a training supervisor or be APCO certified as a trainer and have had leadership training. May be required to pass a hearing test. Must be willing to work any shift with no exceptions. Shifts may be 8 hours to 12 hours in duration. Drug screen and extensive background check required. Starting salary is $30,000.00.
