The County of Wythe, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hereby issues this Request for Proposals for the provision of vending services at facilities owned and operated by the County, specifically: soft drink and snack vending at the County courthouse and office complex and at Rural Retreat Lake and Campground. The County of Wythe has determined that an appropriate use of CARES Act funds is to purchase crew-cab trucks for certain emergency responses by its fire departments, to minimize personal risk and disease exposure to first responders, their gear and personal vehicles. Wythe County, therefore, requests sealed bids from interested new vehicle dealers for the following:

Four (4) new ¾-ton 4x4 crew cab four-door pickup trucks, red, black or white in color (red strongly preferred); model year 2020 or newer; minimum 6.0L gasoline V8 engines; two short-bed, two long-bed. Desired features include, but are not limited to, backup cameras, tow packages, cab steps, bucket front seats, non-carpeted flooring, with power windows and door locks. Trucks must be delivered to the County no later than Wednesday, December 16, 2020.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider amending the Wythe County Enterprise Zone boundaries. Public comment regarding the proposed amendment will be heard at this hearing. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 6 p.m. in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking sealed BIDS for construction services for a restroom building and associated appurtenances. The restrooms will be adjacent to the newly constructed Utility Barn at the APEX Center. A sewer line will be bid with the restrooms.

Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on October 30, 2020, at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 at which time the bids will be opened and publically read. Bids shall be clearly marked “APEX Restrooms” and marked to the attention of Johnny Kincer, County Engineer. 

Wythe County encourages MBE/WBE type firms to submit proposals.

In compliance with the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider Amendment No. 1 to Ordinance 2000-02, “Meals Tax Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia”. The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the proposed amendment.

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.
