The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Foreman for the Wythe County Buildings and Grounds Department. The Maintenance Foreman performs difficult skilled technical work directing, planning, implementing and participating in facilities construction and maintenance, including building, grounds and equipment maintenance, and solid waste, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Building and Grounds. Departmental supervision is exercised over maintenance personnel within the department.

General knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades; general knowledge of the use and characteristics of common building materials; general knowledge of and in the use of building maintenance, woodworking, plumbing, HVAC and masonry tools and equipment; ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans or specifications; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to estimate needed materials and time required for various jobs; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Possession of tradesman’s license issued by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations in the Commonwealth of Virginia upon employment in any the fields to include electrical, plumbing, pipefitter and/or HVAC preferred. Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
