T-BALL LEAGUE 2016 RULES & REGULATIONS

1.    Players must reach their 4th birthday by September 30th of the current year and may not have reached their sixth (6) birthday by May 1st of the current year.

2. All players must be in a position on the field. No more than seven players may be in the infield.  One player must occupy the pitchers position.

3. Each team bats through the number of players that are present for the game.

4. No score will be kept in keeping with the intent of this being an INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE.  ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE WINNERS.

5. Late arrivals will be added to the end of the lineup and coaches must report late players to the opposing team coach.

6. If a player is in uniform but unable to participate, then they may sit on the team bench.   This situation must be reported to the opposing coach.

7. Since this is an instructional league, every effort should be made by the teams to play the game.   Games should begin on time.

8. All hitting is from the tee.  No pitching is allowed.

9. A maximum of five (5) attempts will be given to each child to hit the ball.  At the coach’s discretion, more attempts may be given, however this should be limited to an appropriate number, i.e. five (5) additional attempts.

10. A game is three (3) innings or a maximum of one (1) hour; whichever comes first.

11. Only bats marked “approved for T-ball” shall be used.

12. The batting tee will be removed from the plate area by a coach when necessary.

13. Runners must not leave the base until the batter makes contact with the ball.

14. No infield fly rule will be used.

15. Intentional slinging or throwing of the bat will result in the batter being warned the first time and called out all other times.

16. No sliding allowed at first base.  If this happens the player will be made to rerun from home to first base.

17. No head first sliding is allowed at any base.

18. The last batter must be announced.  Once the last batter hits the ball the inning ends when the defensive team gets the batter out or returns the ball to home plate.  However, since scores are not kept, the batter and all base runners may complete their running of the bases.

19. On a throw that goes out of the playing area, the play is dead and all runners advance one (1) additional base.

20. A coach may be used at all bases and with the team on offense.   A defensive coach may also be on the field.  Coaches may direct their players.
