The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for two full-time Wastewater Operators for the Wythe County Wastewater Department. Job functions include operation and maintenance of the 1.5 mgd sequencing batch reactor wastewater treatment facility. Job tasks include performing the necessary laboratory analysis to insure compliance with State regulations, preventative and emergency maintenance, solids handling, operation of sewer pump stations, computer use, completion of monthly reports, maintaining records, and other duties as directed. A Class II Wastewater license is required; however those without a license may be considered. Applicants who possess or are in the process of obtaining Associates in Applied Science Degree in the field of Environmental Science, Water/Wastewater Specialization, or Chemical/Biological Sciences or related field are encouraged to apply. Applicant should possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, computer skills, mechanical and electrical skills. Candidates must be self motivated, have the ability to work independently and have a team player attitude. Candidate must have a valid motor vehicles operator’s license.
