Enforces the provisions of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code as it pertains to new construction.
Receives applications and issues permits for new construction after reviewing building plans, building lots, and site conditions for compliance with the Building Code and all state and local ordinances.
Issues all necessary notices or orders to insure compliance with the building code.
Makes or causes to be made all required inspections.
Documents all inspections in writing for future reference.
Keeps official records of applications, permits, certifications issued, fees collected, inspection reports, and notices of orders issued.
Submits to the Wythe County Board of Supervisors monthly and annual written reports containing pertinent information of those permits issued for the prescribed period.
